In deepest space everything runs on VHS tapes. Your space suit? VHS tape loaded in the front makes sure it keeps you alive and breathing. Your tiny rinkity-dink space ship? Yep, the engines are loaded with VHS tapes that keep the whole thing puttering along through the utter blackness. Millennia ago, some race called hoomins shot a vast supply of tapes into the stars . . . movies labeled as “video nasties” by one religious sect or another. Now these “nasties” power everything in your known universe, playing endless loops of hoomin images on flickering screens while sending power through every engine in blackest space . . . But supply is running low. The quest to find more VHS tapes, and the war over existing caches, has begun.
